Josiah Styles, aka Ninja Styles, is a unique man. As you'll find out in the series, he grew up with a sensai as a father figure. Below you can find concept work of his sensai, as well as concepts of his housemaid.
While his sensei is and always was his best friend, they never had a closer friendship than that of student and teacher. Every day Josiah would train in the way of the ninja. There was one unique difference in his training and traditional training though...his sensei had a secret weapon...but we won't reveal in-depth clues of major points in the story-line.
You may think that this secret weapon is something out of this world, but you'd be wrong. You may think that it is a way of training, but again you'd be wrong. The Ninja Styles series doesn't take large leaps into the fiction world. We don't go to outer space, we don't have characters that are so unbelievable they can boot in and out of the Matrix. It's definitely a unique book, with a unique story line. Each character in the series has been carefully developed. The next year's worth of issues has been plotted out as far as twists and turns in the story line. Even the original first issue of the series has been completely re-done...edited and written to fit the fans. Ninja Styles isn't about the toughest guy in the world. It isn't even about the smartest guy in the world. It's about using the art of stealth to sneak behind enemy lines. It's about your life being saved by someone whom you didn't even know was there.
I know that it's tough because we can't give away the story line; we can't even really go into the roots of Josiah's inspiration. All we can tell you are the basics and give you a sample of the artwork and characters. We're sorry, but that's all we can do. I mean, George Lucas didn't tell the world that Darth Vader was Luke's father before the movie went to theaters did he? Nor can we tell you that Darth is also Josiah's father....we've told too much.
