Here we're going to take you through each step so that you get a good feel for the routine you should develope as an artist. Even the slightest of skills must be practiced and mastered before any artist can even start to dream of success. The detailed steps have been covered in previous tutorials though; so they are by no means detailed.
1. As with the first step-by-step figure drawing exercise, but this time draw, the figure with foreshortened parts. Once again do the gesture, but foreshorten it.
2. Find the right pose; look for the curvature of the spine and the correct shoulder/hip relation. Sketch the parts lightly.
3. Gauge the correct distance and imagine that the parts are 3-dimensional.
4. Round the figure off. Shading helps in putting volume to the figure; the right lower leg is shaded to make it look like it's bent and the left leg is also shaded to create the illusion that it is distant and is under the torso.
Having a hard time? Just keep practicing and be patient. Don't think that you have a long way to go, know how far you've come and look forward to the rewards you'll get when you get better.
Art isn't a science, everything is completely different from project to project. Your style on one comic book series may not work so well on a different series. Prepare for change by setting a routine system for going through the steps of the drawing process.

You could use the techniques learned here in other arts as well. Flower arrangement can be just as much an art as drawing. Of course you could just order flowers online at Avas flowers if you need flowers delivered quickly.
